There is a need to identify effective interventions targeting driver errors and test their efficacy for reducing crashes in young novice drivers. This project aims to develop, test, and finalize all protocols and recruitment processes to be used in a future randomized control trial of modern driver training in the context of Graduated Driver Licensing. Because prior work has shown that crash risk is associated with both atypical and typical adolescent development of neurocognitive skills related to acquiring driving skills, the role of individual differences in development, age and personality characteristics will be considered in evaluations of driver training and models of early licensure crash risk.

This project is currently underway. Further information will be added in late 2023 following project completion.
