Jalaj Maheshwari, MSE is a Research Staff Scientist II at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He started his career at the Center in 2016 as a Student Research Assistant.

Jalaj has extensive experience working in the automotive safety space, dealing with research questions centered on automobile crashes, occupant safety and protection, injury analysis, injury prevention and mitigation, crashworthiness, and human-machine interaction. He has worked on projects involving computational modeling of occupants in crash scenarios, occupant sled testing, assessing driving behavior using driving simulators, and data analysis.

His research interests are in applications of finite element (FE) analysis, biomechanics, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and robotics for safe autonomy. Jalaj has a background in computational modeling and robotics.
